Sarasota, Pinecraft, 4 Feet

Did these good folk know that they were the victims of a Cosmic joke? Or were they themselves perpetuating the joke – arranging themselves in a certain way and waiting to see who would notice? Or no joke at all, simply coincidence?

This photograph, taken in the bright mid-day sun in Pinecraft, the Amish and Mennonite vacation neighborhood in Sarasota Florida, shows a group of four people, probably family, who have parked themselves within four feet of four signs saying no parking within four feet of a cement square (four sides). Technically, the signs probably refer to motor vehicles, but most of these residents depend on horse and buggy, tricycles, or walking since they don’t drive.

I suspect their seating arrangement is purely coincidental. Signs are signs, sidewalk is sidewalk, sitting is sitting, 4 bare feet are 4 bare feet. Being put together though, creates a visual pun. A viewer who sees the world holistically might catch the pun.
