St Armand’s Sign
“I set my rainbow in the cloud, and it will be a sign of a covenant between me and the earth”

It appears that there was a great preoccupation with signage in biblical times. The word sign appears 89 times in the Hebrew Bible alone.
As a child, I had little faith and periodically would ask God for a sign to prove he was there. It seems that others felt the same way. In any event, we humans were usually the ones wanting a sign. Now here we see that God might be wanting a sign from us.
What kind of sign might it be, verbal or non-verbal, and if verbal, what language? What if God is not asking for a sign? Would God be annoyed by our presumption.
Clearly, the churchgoers of St Armand’s Key Lutheran Church were not willing to wait and have erected a sign regardless. Now God has a sign.
Humans (and their theologies) are an enigma to me.
The introvert in me sometimes has a problem approaching strangers for street photos. One way out is to photograph strange signs instead.
