Great street photographers are known for their iconic works. Dorothea Lange for her Migrant Mother, Walker Evans for his Alabama Tenant Farmer Wife, Alfred Eisenstaedt for his VJ in Times Square, and many more. Think of The Afghan Girl and the name Steve McCurry instantly comes to mind. We know a piece of art is iconic when other artists imitate them and often parody them. Surely, it must be every photographer’s ambition to have at least one iconic photo. It’s not easy to take a great street photo. Alex Webb has said that street photography is 99.9% about failure and it takes a combination of luck and skill to create an exceptional image. In this section, are photos that I consider some of my best work.
