Question: “What is art? Answer: What is not art?”

Like spirituality, like happiness, like health, like street photography, like life itself, art is impossible to define. The one thing we know, art is everywhere if only we can see it. Even a person sitting at a table has the potential to be part of an art installation.

This scene is composed of two distinct sculptural forms. The figure is an attractive young woman with shapely legs. Like the mermaid perched on a rock in Copenhagen, she seems comfortably positioned on her spot. Impeccably groomed and dressed. her skin, hair, cap, sunglasses, blouse, pants, sneakers, and even her drink and cell phone are either white or beige.

The second form is the furniture. Table, chairs and their legs are carefully designed with matching shape, color and pattern. Their black/red design beautifully offsets the white/beige design of the figure.

Combined, woman and furniture seem perfectly coordinated. Even the pattern on the sole of her sneakers repeats the patterns of the chairs, table, and floor.

Most people walking past this scene, barely gave it a second glance. To a street photographer however, this was candy to the eye.
